Who is responsible for your data
This site is owned and run by Ben Turner, trading as BGT Digital, a sole trader established in Slovakia and working with clients in the United Kingdom and the United States. There is no company, no staff and no team. When this policy says "I", that is who it means.

What I collect
When you submit a form
There are two forms on this site. Both collect the same core information:
- Your name and email address, which are required
- Your company name and website, which are optional
- Whatever you write in the message field
The contact form also asks for your monthly ad budget range and your current situation. The fixed-price enquiry form asks which service you are interested in.
Marketing attribution, submitted with the form
Both forms silently include information about how you arrived at this site. This is the honest bit that most privacy policies leave out. It is stored in your browser and sent when you submit:
- The source, medium and campaign you arrived from, either from tags in the link or worked out from the site that referred you
- Advertising click identifiers if present: gclid, gbraid, wbraid (Google), msclkid (Microsoft), fbclid (Meta), li_fat_id (LinkedIn)
- The keyword and match type, if you arrived from an ad configured to pass them
- The page you first landed on, the page you submitted from, and the site that referred you
- Whether you are on desktop, tablet or mobile
- The same details from your first ever visit, and the date of that visit
This is kept in your browser's local storage under the key bgt_attr for 90 days, then cleared and rewritten. It is not read by anyone unless you submit a form. Clearing your browser data removes it immediately.
Analytics, advertising and session recording
Everything in this section loads through Google Tag Manager, and only if you accept it in the cookie banner. Decline and none of it runs.
- Google Analytics for how the site is used
- Microsoft Clarity, which records your session and builds heatmaps of where people click and scroll. Clarity masks text input by default, so what you type into a form is not recorded, but your movement around the page is
- Meta pixel and the LinkedIn Insight Tag, which let those platforms measure whether their ads led to anything
- Google Ads conversion linker, which connects an ad click to a later enquiry
Why I collect it, and the legal basis

Where the basis is consent you can withdraw it at any time through the cookie banner. Where it is legitimate interest you can object by emailing me, and I will remove the data unless I have a compelling reason not to.

Transfers outside the UK and EEA rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US and UK-US Data Privacy Frameworks.
I do not sell your data. I do not share it with anyone other than the processors above, except where the law requires it or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: up to 24 months, then deleted
- Client records: for the length of our work together, then 6 years for tax and accounting
- Attribution data in your browser: 90 days, cleared automatically
- Analytics: per the retention setting in Google Analytics
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Give you a copy of what I hold about you
- Correct anything wrong
- Delete it
- Restrict or stop processing it
- Send it to someone else in a portable format
- Stop relying on legitimate interest
Email ben@bgtdigital.com and I will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled it you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In Slovakia that is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov). In the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions.
